I am starting to write code (in Python or in R) for the first time, which subscription do I need?

Canda’s Basic subscription is ideal for starters.

It is set up as a pay-as-you-go subscription: after receiving your username and password, you can get started writing code immediately.

Canda is also prefilled with the top 100 most used packages, so there is no need for lengthy setup of your hardware.

I am new to coding (in Python or in R), can I get some training?

Absolutely!

Our mission is to get you started with coding, on your way to data-driven decisions. We have a training for beginners, please contact us for more information.

How do I finetune the memory capacity of the infrastructure?

Depending on your subscription, you enjoy either 20 or 40 Gb of RAM. If you require more capacity, either ad hoc or continuously, please contact us.

Is Canda an RStudio product?

While Canda has a licensing agreement with RStudio, PBC. which allows us to include RStudio Workbench and RStudio Connect in our offering, Canda is in no way supported by or otherwise affiliated with RStudio, Inc.

How does Canda secure my data & code?

When you subscribe to canda.ai, our system creates a virtual environment on our servers.
This ensures that all of your code and data are completely “locked in” within your own virtual environment.

You cannot “break out” of this virtual setting, and so other users can’t either.

Is Canda the same as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud?

Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud are cloud computing providers. They will provide you with computing muscle and that’s it. You will need to install, secure, and maintain your datascience environment yourself. You will also need to purchase licenses for the RStudio products.

Because Canda automates the maintenance and installation steps, and because RStudio has granted us an interesting offering on their commercial products, we are able to provide our datascience platform at very affordable rates.
